Spida Everitt set to cook up a storm at Melbourne’s 4x4 Show

Melbourne’s National 4x4 & Outdoors Show, Fishing and Boating Expo is proud to welcome former AFL star and Great Australian Doorstep host Peter ‘Spida’ Everitt to the stage at this year’s grand event, to be held over the Fathers Day weekend.

Spida and his wife Sheree will take to the stage to flaunt their impressive cooking abilities for thousands of visitors, in what will be an exclusive taste of things to come on their brand-new family caravanning television series, The Great Australian Doorstep.

The entertaining Channel 7 series will follow Spida and his young family’s journey across Australia as they discover the country’s unique offerings and small-town treasures, with the addition of valuable on-road cooking and travel tips.

“I have always loved the outdoors, time with the family and adventure. After looking around on television, I realised nobody did a show that looked at Australia in a cost effective way with children, so I did my own,” Everitt explained.

“The 4x4 show is a great way to gain both a male and female perspective of life in the outdoors. Feel free to ask us anything you like, Sheree is savage on a chat!

“I will demonstrate a little bit of my fine camp cooking, have taste tests and plenty of our fantastic giveaways, plus the launch of our brand new series which starts on Saturday 4th at 5pm on Channel 7TWO,” he said.

Spida and his wife will be giving 4x4 Show visitors the opportunity to take a look inside their new 4x4 Jayco Outback Expanda and Toyota Trooper, and watch the first exciting episode of The Great Australian Doorstep.

When not cooking up an outdoor feast, Spida is keen to hit the 4wd test track, catch a Marlin on the fishing simulator, drive the RC rock crawlers and search for all the best outdoor gear for his future travels.

Mark Petersen from the National 4x4 & Outdoors Show, Fishing and Boating Expo said, “We’re really looking forward to seeing Spida and Sheree at the show and the first episode of their new series, which is set to air for the first time on the Saturday.”

“The whole series is terrific and they have great travels to talk about. If they had an outdoor master chef cook off, I’m sure Spida would be in the running.

Tickets are on sale to Melbourne’s National 4x4 & Outdoors Show, Fishing and Boating Expo, to be held over Fathers Day weekend on the 3-5 September 2010.
