After wowing crowds across Australia, the biggest and baddest four wheel drive of them all will make it’s National 4x4, Off-Road, Fishing and Outdoors Expo debut in September, with show organisers today confirming that Australian built-Monster Truck, ‘Sampson’ will be part of the entertainment line-up for this year’s event.
From September 4 – 6, 2009 ‘Sampson’ will feature in three daily shows at the 2009 National 4x4, Off-Road, Fishing and Outdoors Expo. The four and a half tonne machine will perform wheelies and a number of big air jumps.
Also performing alongside ‘Sampson’ will be its cousin, the Wheelie Jeep which is a rear-engine vehicle that has been modified to allow it to perform a number of tricks at speeds of up to 100 kilometres per hour – whilst on its back wheels.
Mark Petersen from the National 4x4, Off-Road, Fishing and Outdoors Expo said with the event moving to the Melbourne Showgrounds the show now has the capacity for an all new adrenalin focused entertainment package which shows off the capabilities of four wheel drives.
“Monster Trucks are considered the King of the four wheel drive family and it is going to be awesome seeing ‘Sampson’ in action at the 2009 National 4x4, Off-Road, Fishing and Outdoors Expo,” Petersen said.
“The Melbourne Showgrounds are perfect for big ground shaking entertainment and that is what people can expect to see at this year’s event, with Sampson and the Wheelie Jeep just one part of the two and four wheel entertainment package currently planned for the show.
“With the event being conducted on the same weekend as Fathers Day, Melbourne Showgrounds is shaping up as the perfect place to take dad for a great day’s entertainment while also viewing the latest in four wheel drives, accessories and camping and fishing equipment.”
‘Sampson’ and the Wheelie Jeep were both constructed over a two year period by Sam Xuereb.
