Boat brands and dealers return to four wheel drive and fishing show

The National 4x4, Off-Road, Fishing and Outdoors Expo will have a much larger boating presence in 2009 with event organisers today confirming an increase in boating exhibitors at this year’s event which will be held at the Melbourne Showgrounds from September 4 – 6.

Mark Petersen from the National 4x4, Off-Road, Fishing and Outdoors Expo said the sector’s positive response to the show relocating to the Melbourne Showground has meant an increase in the number of boats and boating accessories on display at this year’s event.

“Australia’s largest outdoors show is set to get even bigger and this can be attributed to the increase in boating exhibitors who have signed up to be part of the show,” Petersen said.

“With the event moving to the Melbourne Showgrounds we will have more indoor and outdoor exhibition space for a range of boats including tinnies, cartoppers, inflatables, runabouts and cabin boats.

“If you are in the market for a serious fishing boat or tinnie for the whole family the National 4x4, Off-Road, Fishing and Outdoors Expo will be the perfect place to buy a vessel in time for summer with a number of the of exhibitors already indicating they will be offering special show discounts.”

One of the feature boats on display for the Port Phillip Boating Centre will be the Haines Hunter 600R owned by Charlie Micallef. The fisherman profiled the entire construction of the boat, which was the first to of it’s kind to be painted Ferrari red, in his Adventures of the Savage Seas DVD. Along with this the Haines Hunter 575 ProFish will also be on show at the event.

JV Marine World will also be exhibiting at the event with the reputable Melbourne dealer set to display a number of boats from Signature, Seafarer, Whittley Cruisers and Quintrex. The stand will also feature watercraft of the smaller kind with two Kawasaki Jet Skis and three inflatable boats.

On the Regal Marine Centre site will be some of the models in the TABS Boats range including the Bullshark 420, which was purpose built as a Salt Water Punt and is capable of handling rougher conditions.

Bass Boat Imports will be exhibiting at the event with company displaying their Sketter ZX195 as an example of how they can take all the angst out of importing competition boats from America by handling everything from sourcing a boat to complying with government rules and regulations.

The National 4x4, Off-Road, Fishing and Outdoors Expo will coincide with Fathers Day with a revamped entertainment program featuring Monster Trucks, Freestyle Motocross and Stadium Enduro X. The Fishing Stage will also include a new education program making it the perfect location to celebrate dad’s special day.
