Revamped Action Arena to headline National 4x4 and Outdoors Expo PDF Print E-mail

The dust will be flying at the RNA Showgrounds on March 19 - 21, with organisers of the 2010 National 4x4 and Outdoors Expo today announcing an all-new lineup of Action Arena attractions at the leading towing, touring and camping event.

Truckloads of dirt will be brought into the RNA Showgrounds to construct the Action Arena which will host a range of demonstrations including the crazy Loveday Extreme 4x4 Show, the 4wd TV All Terrain Challenge and the Browns Grafix Mini Moto display.

The track will double as a testing area with manufacturers providing test rides in their latest models and four wheel drive clubs conducting sessions to teach individuals the correct technique to use when negotiating some common obstacles confronted whilst on the road less travelled.

Mark Petersen from the National 4x4 and Outdoors Expo said it will be the first time that the Loveday Extreme 4x4 Show and 4wd TV All Terrain Challenge have been conducted in Brisbane.

"We've made some significant changes to the format for the Action Arena and this year it will provide four wheel drive enthusiasts the opportunity to see some of the products and services that are on display in the exhibition halls in action," Petersen said.

"We will be constructing a purpose built four wheel drive track at the showground which will feature a number of jumps, crossings and other obstacles. The track will be used for the Loveday Extreme 4x4 Show which was a major attraction at our Melbourne event with thousands flocking to see 4x4's of many shapes and sizes in action conducting crazy stunts.

"The 4wd TV All Terrain Challenge will see vehicles from all over Australia take to the purpose built course to see who can skillfully negotiate the track in the best time. Entries are still being taken for the challenge and more information can be obtained by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ."

Petersen said that the show is shaping up to be the biggest yet with a bigger footprint of exhibition space then previous years indicating they will be offering an amazing array of show specials and discounts. Exhibitors at the show will showcase everything from four wheel drives and accessories, camper trailers, outdoor & adventure equipment, camp cooking, kayaks and more.

For the sixth consecutive year the National 4x4 and Outdoors Expo will be co-located with the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show with the two events creating one mega show for the camping, boating, fishing and four wheel drive enthusiasts.

One of the attractions at the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show will be the Sport Fishin' Simulator which will return in 2010 after proving to be extremely popular with fishing enthusiasts last year.

Jason Plant from the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show said The Sport Fishin' Simulator provides anglers the chance to test their technique against the simulators advanced digital scoring system which caters for all levels using the different specifics of fish and casting environments.

"The Sport Fishin' Simulator caters for all fishing levels and will allow people to put into practice some of the tips they obtain whilst at the show," Plant said, "Not only can participants choose the type of fish they are trying to catch they can also choose the environment which they catch it in be it on the beach, riverbank or on the stern of a boat."

Organisers of the National 4x4 and Outdoors Expo are pleased to announce Waeco will provide the event with ongoing support as a major sponsor of the 2010 event. The mobile refrigeration specialist produces a number of products which are perfectly suited to the four wheel drive, outdoors, camping and boating enthusiast.
