Just over 20 per cent of floor space remains for the August 23-25 event at the Melbourne Showgrounds, with the early interest and strong demand resulting in organisers adding an additional hall to the Show footprint, bringing it to over 50,000 square metres for the first time ever.

“The interest we’ve received so early on, from both current exhibitors and also new organisations has resulted in the inclusion of an additional hall which will be the dedicated Automotive Pavilion to house 4WD vehicle manufacturers, with Holden and Suzuki already confirmed,” said Paul Morgan, Event Manager, National 4×4 & Outdoors Show.

“This also then gives other exhibitors extra space to play with and the opportunity to display even more product, meaning visitors will have many more things to see and experience.”

The ever-popular Action Arena is sure to capture the interest of an anticipated 33,000-strong crowd at the Showgrounds, with the invitation-only TJM Austruck Extreme 4×4 competition to be a feature attraction.

The DPChip Extreme Show and Monster Trucks will also pack the stands, with the Action Arena scheduled to host 4WD test rides and Trophy Kart demonstrations as well.

Also confirmed is the WAECO Outback Stage and a number of meet and greet sessions with some of the 4WD and Fishing industries biggest names including Pat Callinan, Mr 4×4 himself, and Paul Worsteling, the host of television’s iFISH programme.

Visitors to the Show will be able to learn or perhaps perfect their fishing techniques from the best in the business with the Yamaha Supertank and casting classes locked in and the Young Guns Fishing Adventures running clinics for people of all ages and capabilities.

For the first time ever and to alleviate potential traffic and parking congestion, Metro Trains will run a special train service on the Saturday and Sunday for show patrons with trains running every 20 minutes from Flinders Street, stopping at Southern Cross and North Melbourne Stations, then express to the Showgrounds.

In the eighth co-location of two of Queensland’s most popular outdoor living expos, crowds formed outside on all three mornings prior to the gates opening, eager to snap up a Show Special and see the latest products and accessories.

Across the two Shows, 230 exhibitors showcased hundreds-of-thousands of products including World and Australian premieres such as the revolutionary Wavefisher line hauler and the Cam-An Maverick side-by-side vehicle.
The Wavefisher, an unique motorised line-hauler capable of transporting beach-based fishing lines up to 1,500 metres offshore, was well-received at the Show and developer Mike Finnegan was extremely happy with visitor interest and the show overall.

“We had a great show. The assistance from the organisers was awesome which we really appreciated. Everything ran really well and we had fantastic response from the public. I would recommend this show to any business wanting to introduce a new product to the fishing public of Queensland,” said Finnegan.

Presented by Club Marine, the Tinnie and Tackle Show showcased over 300 boats from almost 50 brands including the new Generation 2 Bar Crushers, Blaze, Stejcraft, PRO Craft as well as the new Stessl Magnum Centre Cab, Sea Fox 209 Commander and the Quintrex 650 Trident featuring the worlds lightest engine, the new Yamaha F200F.

“The 2013 Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show was a great success – the overall crowd numbers were pleasing, the weather was fantastic and many of our exhibitors reported sales and good customer interest, in particular Old Town Canoes and Kayaks, which recorded an impressive 40 per cent increase in sales and enquiries from last year,” said Jason Plant, Event Manager, Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show.
“From previous shows, we knew that parking would be limited at the Showgrounds, so we arranged for a free train loop between key Brisbane stations, which proved very popular.

“Based on the feedback from exhibitors and visitors alike, we’re already in planning stages for next year’s show and hope to have a few surprises up our sleeves!”

Presenting partner, Club Marine also had a successful show with standing-room only at many of Bart Beek’s cooking demonstrations, its magazine’s chef, and donations made to the volunteer Coast Guard from the Club Marine Assist liferings.
“Once again, we thought the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show was great. There were plenty of people around throughout the weekend and lots of things to see and do,” said Phil Whybrow, State Manager – Queensland, Club Marine Limited.

Paul Worsteling, renowned angler and host of television’s IFISH programme was again the Tinnie and Tackle Show’s official ambassador, with standing-room only at his talks on the Fishing Expo Stage and the next generation of anglers being taught by one of the best in the business at the Kids Marine Zone.

From the other side of the RNA Showgrounds, National 4×4 & Outdoors Show Event Manager, Paul Morgan was also pleased with the attendance figures and feedback received from exhibitors.

“From the very moment the gates opened and until they closed on Sunday evening, we had people everywhere. The Action Arena grandstands were packed full throughout all three days with the DPChip Extreme Show featuring the all-new Can-Am Maverick and the TJM Austruck Extreme 4×4 Competition wowing the crowds,” said Morgan.

“Visitors to the Show were also buying up big with many of our exhibitors reporting strong sales and customer interest – Conqueror camper trailers for example achieved sales three times higher than that of last year.

“This demonstrates the continued popularity of the National 4×4 & Outdoors Show in Queensland as a destination for ideas and inspiration as well as a place to purchase the latest products and accessories from leading brands, making for a value-packed day out.

First-time exhibitor, FAA Automotive Australia, the distributor for Foton light commercial and passenger vehicles in Australia said the Foton Tunland stand was well-attended by show patrons, with some also going for a test-ride in a Tunland on the Action Arena.

“A constant flow of patrons stopped at the Foton Tunland stand to enquire about the Tunlands displayed at the show and also provide feedback about the vehicles,” said Peter Llewellyn, Director of FAA Automotive Australia.

“We received positive feedback about the Tunland’s imposing size and quality and those who rode in the Tunland said they were surprised by the vehicles performance and impressed with the engines power.”

Thousands of people have attended the first day of the 2013 Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle and National 4×4 and Outdoors Show at Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds.

In what organisers have labelled one of the busiest opening days, crowds lined Gregory Terrace prior to the 9am start, eager to snap up a Show Special and see the latest and greatest in all things fishing, boating, camping and outdoors.

“We are absolutely thrilled with today’s showing, the weather has been kind and it’ great to see so many people out and about and enjoying the sunshine,” said Jason Plant, Event Manager, Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show.

“There are so many things to see and do across both Shows with hundreds-of-thousands of products on display, 230 exhibitors, celebrity guests, informative talks plus as well the ever popular Yamaha Supertank, Kids Marine Zone and the 4×4 Show’s Action Arena.”

Held at Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds from March 15-17, these two shows merge annually to create Australia’s biggest 4×4, off-road, touring, towing, fishing and boating expo, making it the ultimate destination for outdoor enthusiasts, novices and families alike.

The Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show will again feature the Kids Marine Zone which is sure to be a hit with youngsters, enabling them to learn the basics of fishing, including knot tying, rod casting and bait netting.

At the three salt water tanks, kids will learn how to identify different types of sea creatures including estuary fish and well as see dangerous marine life up close such as sting rays, sharks and blue bottles (subject to availability).

The Kids Marine Zone also gives children the chance to use their new-found skills with the chance to catch freshwater yabbies, with all participants receiving prizes and a sample bag.

Kids will also have the chance to learn from one of the best in the business with iFish host Paul Worsteling dropping into the Marine Zone to lend a hand.

Kids will also be putting the pressure on their parents to head over to the National 4×4 & Outdoors Show where the Action Arena will provide all members of the family plenty of entertainment and giveaways.

The DPChip Extreme Show, held daily on the Arena will consist of comedy stunts, tricks and precision driving, guaranteed to keep everyone on the edge of their seats.

The challenging course requires competitors to muscle their way up, over and through obstacles without the use of winches, while racing against the clock.

Four-wheel-drive test rides will also be conducted throughout the Show, where visitors can experience the tough 4wd track as a passenger, whilst also receiving valuable tips and techniques from the experienced drivers.
