Sherman and Cornelius introduce Bernie 'Gabba' Vegas to remote control 'rock crawlers' prior to the National 4x4 and Outdoors Expo.

Just days until his first appearance at the National 4x4 and Outdoors Expo, Brisbane Lions Club mascot Bernie 'Gabba' Vegas has had a sneak peek at one of the attractions at this weekend's event with Lions players Justin Sherman and Aaron Cornelius introducing him into the weird and wacky world of remote control rock crawlers.

Bernie, who will be attending the National 4x4 and Outdoors Expo to meet with some of the team's younger fans, was provided a crash course in how the rock crawlers work under instruction from Sherman and Cornelius.

Sherman and Cornelius enjoyed operating the remote control rock crawlers believe they will be a hit at this weekend's National 4x4 and Outdoors Expo.
"I wanted to take one home," Sherman said.

"We had a great time driving them around the Gabba. They certainly pick up plenty of speed and I was surprised that we were able to drive them right over Bernie."

"This weekend should be great event. Personally, I really enjoy spending time outdoors when I get the chance during the AFL off-season - particularly when it involves fishing," Cornelius said.

"Hopefully plenty of people come and visit our Club's stand at the Expo this weekend and sign up as members because coming to watch the Lions play at the Gabba is one of the most popular and family friendly outdoor activities you can do around Brisbane."

The National 4x4 and Outdoors Expo will commence this Friday 19 March 2010. The event is being held alongside the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Expo to create a Mecca for all things outdoors.
